In 2013, Parkwind contracted Jan De Nul to install the Northwind 220 kV export cable, a 5,200-tonne offshore export cable system linking the Northwind offshore high-voltage substation to shore, with Jan De Nul converting its vessel Willem de Vlamingh into a cable-laying vessel to execute this first major cable-lay project, thereby installing the export link that would later be shared with Nobelwind via Cableco.
