Financial close was achieved in 2016 for the €1.2 billion Norther offshore wind project on the Belgian continental shelf, which includes the 25.8 km, 220 kV subsea export cable linking the offshore substation to the onshore Belgian transmission grid. Mott MacDonald acted as lenders’ technical advisor, providing due diligence on key aspects such as the project schedule, timeline, export cable design and turbine technology to support this financing decision.
