Energinet has initiated broader preliminary site investigations for the North Sea Energy Island and its transmission grid (North Sea Energy Island Grid/VindØ), including biological surveys and the collection of metocean data in the designated North Sea area. These environmental and oceanographic studies are intended to inform strategic environmental assessment and to ensure that the artificial island, offshore wind farms, and export grid are located and designed to minimise impacts on the marine environment.
