The North Sea Energy Island Grid (commonly referred to in project literature as VindØ) is the planned offshore export and hub transmission system to collect power from multiple offshore wind farms in the North Sea Energy Island area and export it to the Danish onshore transmission network. The sc...

Energinet, the Danish transmission system operator, has commenced geophysical seabed investigations as part of the preliminary site investigations for the North Sea Energy Island and its associated transmission grid (North Sea Energy Island Grid/VindØ). These geophysical surveys support the siting and design of the artificial island, surrounding offshore wind farms, and export grid infrastructure by mapping seabed conditions in the designated North Sea area.
As part of the preliminary site investigations for the North Sea Energy Island and its offshore transmission grid (North Sea Energy Island Grid/VindØ), Energinet is carrying out geotechnical surveys in the North Sea area where the artificial island and surrounding offshore wind farms will be located. These investigations include seabed soil and subsoil studies to ensure the foundations and export cable routes are technically and environmentally suitable.

Energinet has initiated broader preliminary site investigations for the North Sea Energy Island and its transmission grid (North Sea Energy Island Grid/VindØ), including biological surveys and the collection of metocean data in the designated North Sea area. These environmental and oceanographic studies are intended to inform strategic environmental assessment and to ensure that the artificial island, offshore wind farms, and export grid are located and designed to minimise impacts on the marine environment.
