Fugro was awarded a contract by TotalEnergies to carry out geotechnical surveys for the NordSee Energies 1 (NSE1) offshore wind farm at the N-12.1 site in the German North Sea. The campaign assessed seabed conditions at planned wind turbine locations and along inter-array cable routes to support foundation design and associated infrastructure. Fugro deployed five specialist vessels to conduct investigations at around 140 locations, reaching depths of up to 50 metres below the seabed, using its SEACALF Mk V seabed cone penetration testing system. Post-fieldwork laboratory testing was planned at Fugro facilities in Wallingford (UK) and Louvain (Belgium), with resulting geo-data delivered via Fugro’s VirGeo cloud platform.
