In November 2025, TotalEnergies submitted permit applications for the NordSee Energies 1 offshore wind farm at the N-12.1 site to Germany’s Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH), initiating the main planning and construction consent process for the 2 GW project as part of its German offshore portfolio.
In 2023, Germany’s Federal Network Agency awarded TotalEnergies the N-12.1 offshore wind site for the 2 GW NordSee Energies 1 (NSE1) project as part of a national offshore wind tender. TotalEnergies secured the area with a winning bid of €1.875 million per megawatt, corresponding to a total payment of €3.75 billion, granting it development rights for the site within Germany’s ongoing offshore wind build-out programme.
