Description
Prysmian Cables and Systems was awarded the supply contract for the alpha ventus offshore wind farm grid connection by E.ON Netz (Germany). Per the TD World article (November 2007): "Prysmian will design and manufacture 66 km of a 110 kV submarine cable system plus accessories, including joints, terminations and testing services." Cable delivery deadline was 30 June 2008 with service completion by 30 September 2008. The cable runs from the alpha ventus offshore substation to the German mainland via Norderney, terminating at the Hagermarsch substation.
