On 10 July 2012, Svenska kraftnät signed a contract with Siemens AB for a turnkey (“totalentreprenad”) delivery of a new switchgear facility at Nybro station, part of the NordBalt interconnector project. The agreement covers the complete provision of the new switchgear installation, with Siemens acting as main contractor responsible for delivering the station asset. The contract value amounts to approximately 109 million Swedish kronor, marking a significant procurement step in preparing the Nybro connection point required for the NordBalt HVDC link between Sweden and the Baltic region.
