On 20 December 2010, LITGRID Turtas AB and Svenska Kraftnät awarded ABB a EUR 147 million turnkey contract to design, manufacture and construct the NordBalt converter stations at Nybro in Sweden and Klaipėda in Lithuania, completing the tender process for the HVDC converter supply and installation for the interconnector.
