TenneT selected Belgian survey company GEOxyz to carry out geophysical and geotechnical route surveys for the export cable corridor of the Nederwiek 3 offshore grid connection between the Nederwiek offshore wind farm zone in the North Sea and the Dutch onshore grid at Geertruidenberg or Moerdijk. By June 2023, GEOxyz had mobilised its survey vessels Geosurveyor VIII and Geosurveyor V for inland and nearshore sections from Stellendam to Geertruidenberg, with Geo Ocean III or Geo Ocean VI scheduled for offshore work, supported by Geodrone ASV and aerial UAV teams for ultra‑shallow waters and land sections. The surveys are intended to map seabed and lakebed topography, identify obstructions, and provide data for a geological model and Burial Assessment Study to define export cable design and installation parameters for the Nederwiek 3 connection.
