Description
On 3 March 2023, TenneT selected NKT to supply and install the 525 kV XLPE HVDC export cable system for Nederwiek 2, as part of a combined EUR ~2 billion award with IJmuiden Ver Beta and IJmuiden Ver Gamma (all landing at Maasvlakte). Nederwiek 2 has an offshore cable route of approximately 204 km and an onshore route of approximately 400 m. The cable system comprises 525 kV XLPE HVDC plus and minus pole cables, a metallic return cable and fibre optic cable. NKT's scope includes design, engineering, production, delivery, project management, and offshore/nearshore/inshore installation.
