Construction of the Moray West offshore wind farm and its associated transmission system progressed through offshore installation phases starting in 2023 and culminated in full operational status and grid connection in April 2025. At this point the Moray West OFTO transmission assets—export cables and substations connecting the 882 MW wind farm in the outer Moray Firth to the UK grid—were fully commissioned and in commercial operation, enabling continuous power export at the project’s intended capacity.
