Description
Nexans Norway was awarded the NOK 350 million contract by BKK Nett in October 2017 to design, type-test, manufacture and install the 420 kV XLPE submarine cables crossing Fensfjorden as part of the Modalen-Mongstad 420 kV transmission line. Cable was manufactured at Nexans Halden plant and installation was carried out by C/S Nexans Skagerrak in summer 2019. The cable was type-tested to a world-record depth of 550 metres ahead of installation at the actual crossing depth of approximately 530 metres.
