BiGGAR Economics carried out a socio-economic impact study for ScottishPower Renewables’ MachairWind offshore wind farm to map and assess potential economic and social impacts for communities and local enterprises, including Islay, Colonsay and Jura. The work examined opportunities and challenges associated with developing, constructing and operating the project, using stakeholder engagement and quantitative economic modelling to inform early-stage understanding of potential benefits and constraints.
