Scottish Power Renewables (UK) Limited (SPR) is a privately held electricity producer registered in Northern Ireland and forming part of the ScottishPower Renewables business within the ScottishPower group, itself owned by Iberdrola. As one of the group’s key UK renewable generation companies, it is involved in the development, construction and operation of onshore and offshore wind farms and related renewable energy projects across the UK and Ireland. The company sits within a wider renewables structure that also includes project-specific subsidiaries such as ScottishPower Renewables (WODS) Limited and the East Anglia One, One North, Two and Three entities.
Through ScottishPower Renewables, SPR is associated with more than 40 operational windfarm sites with a combined capacity of over 2,800 MW of renewable generation, including the West of Duddon Sands offshore windfarm and East Anglia ONE. East Anglia ONE comprises 102 Siemens Gamesa turbines 43 km off the Suffolk coast with 714 MW of capacity, supported by the Andalucía II offshore substation, 85 km export cables and onshore grid connection to Burstall. The project sustained around 3,500 construction jobs, created about 100 long‑term roles at its Lowestoft operations and maintenance base, and achieved more than 50% UK supply chain content, underpinned by co‑investment in Peel Ports Great Yarmouth and a £25 million operations hub at Hamilton Dock.
SPR is leading further offshore projects in the southern North Sea off East Anglia, including the 1,400 MW East Anglia THREE (in construction), East Anglia TWO (up to 960 MW, with BOSLAN engaged to supervise key component manufacturing) and East Anglia ONE North, which will deploy up to 67 turbines and is designed to operate for up to 25 years. Across this portfolio SPR emphasises responsible development, community engagement, skills and apprenticeship programmes, and support for the UK’s net-zero and 2030 offshore wind deployment targets.
