Cable Repair

In May 2013, following an export cable fault that had halted production at Lillgrund, Vattenfall began a repair campaign on the 7 km 130 kV submarine export cable linking the offshore substation to shore. After receiving approval from the County Administration on 23 May 2013 to replace the damaged section, the plan was to cut and remove about 75 metres of the cable from the seabed on 27 May, analyze the removed section to determine the cause of damage, and restore the grid connection.
