50Hertz awarded the Dragados Offshore–Siemens Energy consortium an EPCI contract for the LanWin3 (NOR-11-1) 2 GW, 525 kV HVDC grid connection covering a new converter system consisting of an offshore converter platform and an onshore converter station. The contract scope included engineering, procurement and construction as well as transportation and installation of the systems at sea and on land. Dragados Offshore stated the offshore platform would be built at its yard in Cádiz/Andalusia, Spain, as part of delivering the offshore conversion platform and associated HVDC converter system.
