150 kV submarine export cable system for the 330 MW Kafireas II wind farm, comprising roughly 70 km of subsea route between Evia and the Lavrion area plus 11 km of onshore cable to the IPTO 150 kV substation.
Tekmar Energy received a subcontract from Hellenic Cables to design, manufacture and supply bend restrictor cable protection systems for the Kafireas II export cable. The protection systems are engineered to safeguard approximately 70 km of 150 kV subsea power cable that connects the 330 MW Kafireas II wind farm on Evia Island to mainland Greece. Tekmar produces the bend restrictors at its Newton Aycliffe facility in northeast England, with delivery scheduled for the third quarter of 2021, supporting safe installation and long-term mechanical integrity of the submarine interconnection.
