150 kV HVAC export interconnection between the Kafireas II wind farm on Evia and IPTO’s 150 kV Lavrion substation, comprising approximately 70 km of three-core submarine cable and 11 km of underground onshore cable.
Hellenic Cables, the cables segment of Cenergy Holdings, in joint venture with Asso.subsea Ltd, was selected by Terna Energy SA following an international tender to deliver the 150 kV export cable system connecting the 330 MW Kafireas II wind farm in southern Evia to IPTO’s 150 kV Lavrion substation on mainland Greece. The turnkey contract covered design and engineering of the high-voltage submarine and underground cable system, manufacturing and supply of approximately 70 km of three-core composite submarine cable and 11 km of single-core underground onshore cable, together with all accessories, joints, terminations and fittings required for completion. Submarine cables were manufactured at Hellenic Cables’ Corinth plant and the land cables at its Thiva facility, with the company also supporting installation and protection activities during the construction phase.
