Enedis and Orange planned to start installation of a new 7.5 km hybrid submarine cable between Lomener (Ploemeur) on the mainland and Quelhuit on Île de Groix from 5 May 2022. This final project phase involves positioning and laying the undersea cable, which combines three copper conductors for electricity transfer and an optical fibre for telecommunications, with landfalls at Ploemeur and on Île de Groix, and was scheduled to continue through June 2022.
