KEMA-CESI was contracted by TenneT to provide HVDC engineering support for TenneT’s 2 GW bipolar HVDC converter-station EPCI contractors for Dutch offshore grid connections, including IJmuiden Ver Gamma. The support scope covered HVDC system and harmonic studies, VSC HVDC control and protection and dynamic performance work including factory performance testing with RTDS and on-site support, as well as primary plant engineering for HVDC/AC (AIS/GIS) and support to installation and commissioning activities. KEMA-CESI was selected as the preferred/lead consultant across both tender lots within the EUR 7 million framework.
