DELAYED +1yr (Apr 2026): Original offshore cable_installation_start was 2026-01-01. A Feb 18, 2026 article based on TenneT communications ("Maasvlakte Beach Powers Wind Future") says land cables to Maasvlakte are complete and NKT is now preparing subsea works, with HDD to start in spring and subsea cable installation "planned for 2027" and offshore works continuing until 2030. This confirms offshore cable lay had not started by early 2026 and is now scheduled for 2027, so the 2026-01-01 date must slip to 2027. --- Following TenneT’s award of 525 kV HVDC cable contracts to NKT for the IJmuiden Ver Beta, IJmuiden Ver Gamma and Nederwiek 2 grid connections landing at Maasvlakte, offshore cable-laying activities for these 2 GW links are planned to begin in 2026. The programme covers design, engineering, production, delivery and installation of the submarine cable systems connecting the offshore converter platforms to the onshore grid.
