Turnkey 150 kV composite cable system interconnecting Igoumenitsa and Corfu, comprising approx. 18 km of three-core submarine cable and 13 km of single-core underground cable.
Hellenic Cables, the cables segment of Cenergy Holdings, signed a turnkey contract with the Greek transmission system operator IPTO to deliver the 150 kV Igoumenitsa–Corfu island interconnection. The scope covers engineering and design, manufacture, transport, installation, mechanical protection, jointing and commissioning of approximately 18 km of three-core submarine HVAC cable and 13 km of single-core underground cable linking the mainland at Igoumenitsa to Corfu and into the Corfu I substation. Submarine cables will be produced at Hellenic Cables’ Corinth plant and the underground cables at its Thiva facility. The project is scheduled for completion within 22 months of contract signing and is intended to enhance the reliability and capacity of Greece’s transmission network and secure the power supply to Corfu and the wider Epirus region.
