Description
In 2023 Equinor awarded Ocean Installer a contract to install additional dynamic inter-array cables on Hywind Tampen. Ocean Installer was tasked with the transport and installation of five 2.5 km 66 kV dynamic inter-array cables in water depths of 260–300 metres, using the construction support vessel Normand Vision equipped with an underdeck carousel and vertical lay system. These cables connect existing turbines in the field to four new turbines installed and commissioned in 2023, completing the turbine loop and allowing the floating wind farm to reach its full 88 MW capacity supplying the Gullfaks and Snorre platforms.
