Description
Kværner AS was awarded a contract by Equinor for Hywind Tampen covering engineering, procurement and construction of 11 floating concrete hulls (spar substructures) supporting the wind turbines. The contract scope also included the marine operations phase, including project management, assembly-site management, mooring system installation (noted as an option in Equinor’s award summary), tow-to-field and installation of the floating wind turbine units in the Tampen area. Construction activities were planned at Kværner’s Stord yard and at Dommersnes in Vindafjord, with subsequent turbine integration and offshore tow-out/installation.
