On 16 January 2017, Masdar acquired a 25% equity stake in the 30 MW Hywind Scotland floating offshore wind farm from Statoil, with the partners agreeing to share development risk and Masdar committing to cover 25% of previous and future project costs as the scheme moved towards commercial operation in late 2017.
