Statoil awarded Aibel a contract valued at approximately NOK 40 million to carry out Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and subsequent Engineering & Management Assistance (EMA) for the substructures of the five floating turbines at the Hywind Scotland Pilot Park, located off the east coast of Scotland. Work on the FEED study and detailed substructure development began immediately from Aibel’s Oslo and Haugesund offices, with project completion expected in 2017 when the turbines were installed.
