NorSea Group AS signed a multi‑million‑value contract with Statoil for use of its Stord base in Norway as the assembly hub for the Hywind Scotland Pilot Park, the world’s first floating wind farm. Effective from 1 March, the contract covers preparing and adapting the base, constructing foundations, unloading 20 turbine sections and associated components, establishing a mooring area for substructures, providing indoor storage, inspecting fully installed turbines, and accommodating around 80 project personnel during the main phase from January to June 2017.
