Co‑financing for HOPS’ strategic project to rehabilitate 110 kV submarine cables—including the Brač–Hvar–Korčula links and the new 110 kV Hvar–Korčula cable between Travna and Slatina—was secured under Croatia’s EU Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP/NPOO) in September 2022. The programme, one of 11 HOPS projects in a wider €218.1 million NPOO transmission-modernisation package, provides grant funding from the EU Recovery and Resilience Facility 2021–2026 for an investment of about €59.5 million to replace ageing 110 kV cables serving six Adriatic islands (Hvar, Brač, Korčula, Lošinj, Cres and Krk), improving island supply security and enabling more renewable generation.
