Design and supply of two 132 kV three-core AC submarine export cable circuits connecting Humber Gateway’s offshore substation to the mainland grid (Humber Gateway export cable system, total route ~39 km with subsea and onshore sections).
ABB won an order worth around US$15 million from E.ON UK in March 2012 to design and supply the high-voltage export cable system for the Humber Gateway offshore wind farm, which later formed the Humber Gateway OFTO transmission assets. The scope covered engineering and manufacture of two parallel 132 kV three-core AC submarine export cables with integrated fibre optics to connect the offshore substation to the onshore grid near Hull. Cable delivery was scheduled for 2013, ahead of offshore installation by a separate marine contractor, providing the main HVAC export connection for the project.
