On 19 October 2015, DONG Energy’s 209 MW Horns Rev 2 offshore wind farm was shut down after a fault occurred on the 42 km export cable connecting the offshore substation to shore at Blåvand in Jutland. Transmission system operator Energinet.dk reported that the connection issue arose at 01:56 that day, leading to a full outage of the export link and the wind farm’s production.
