In the second quarter of 2019, Energinet disconnected the Horns Rev 2 export cable to land for four days to carry out scheduled maintenance works, including a planned inspection of the export cable’s high-voltage switch. During this maintenance outage, a new 8 km, 33 kV interlink cable between Horns Rev 2 and Horns Rev 3 supplied auxiliary power to Horns Rev 2’s 91 turbines, allowing them to remain energised while the export connection was offline.
