two 65-kilometer-long export cables (220kV AC) for Hollandse Kust West Beta; installed/connected using Boskalis vessels Giant 7 and Ndurance
Boskalis was awarded, by TenneT, the Hollandse Kust (west Beta) export cabling contract in consortium with Orient Cables (NBO). Boskalis’ scope included installation, laying and burial of two 65-kilometre-long 220 kV AC export cables to connect the offshore substation to the onshore grid near Wijk aan Zee, and installation of a 9-kilometre-long 66 kV interconnector cable between the Hollandse Kust (west Alpha) and Hollandse Kust (west Beta) offshore substations. Boskalis also provided supporting in-house services including UXO removal/clearance from the seabed and geotechnical and geophysical surveys, along with other preparatory works for cable installation.
