Hollandse Kust West Alpha export cable system consists of two 220kV AC cable systems; known route length 53 km with 2 parallel cables.
Jan De Nul Group, as part of the consortium with LS Cable & System, was contracted by TenneT to transport, lay, protect and trench the 220 kV AC export cables for the Hollandse Kust (west Alpha) grid connection to the onshore grid near Beverwijk. Jan De Nul stated it would use its Cable Lay Vessel Isaac Newton for cable transport and installation and its Multi-Purpose Support Vessel Adhémar de Saint-Venant for post-lay trenching and rock protection at crossing locations, with offshore execution planned for 2022–2023.
