Two ~53 km 220 kV AC export cables link the Hollandse Kust Noord offshore substation to TenneT’s onshore substation near Beverwijk as part of the Net op zee Hollandse Kust Noord grid connection.
TenneT TSO B.V. awarded a consortium of Jan De Nul Group and LS Cable & System the contract to supply and install the 220 kV AC export cable systems for the Hollandse Kust Noord and Hollandse Kust West Alpha offshore grid connections. Within this consortium, LS Cable & System is responsible for the design and manufacture of the high-voltage export cables and for the connection and testing of the circuits, while Jan De Nul performs transport, offshore laying and protection. For Hollandse Kust Noord, LS Cable & System is understood to supply approximately half of the total 210 km of export cable ordered for both projects, corresponding to about 105 km of 220 kV HVAC export cable linking the offshore substation to TenneT’s onshore grid near Beverwijk. The work formed part of TenneT’s standardised 700 MW offshore grid programme, with offshore execution scheduled for 2022–2023.
