Following the issuance of Greece’s Law 4001/2011, HEDNO S.A. (the Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator) was established and given responsibility for managing both the national distribution network and the electricity systems and markets of the Non-Interconnected Islands, including the autonomous Chios–Inousses–Psara system. This legislative change made HEDNO the network operator for the Chios–Inousses cluster, thereby assigning it operational control of the existing medium-voltage Hios–Inousses interconnector as part of that island system.
