Two 155 kV AC submarine export cable systems between the Kaskasi II offshore transformer station and the HelWin Beta converter platform (HelWin2 cluster), approx. 4–5 km route, supplied by ZTT.
In December 2020 TenneT commissioned Zhongtian Technology Submarine Cable (ZTT) to manufacture and supply two 155 kV AC submarine cable systems to connect RWE’s 342 MW Kaskasi II offshore wind farm to the HelWin Beta converter platform. The three-phase export cables run over a route of about 4–5 km between the wind farm’s offshore transformer station and HelWin Beta, with two parallel cable systems installed. ZTT produces the cables at its manufacturing base in Nantong, China, and transports them to Europe, while subsea installation is performed by subcontractor Asso.subsea. Power from Kaskasi II is then transmitted to shore via the existing HelWin2 ±320 kV HVDC grid connection to the land station at Büttel in Schleswig-Holstein.
