TenneT’s HelWin2 (NOR-4-2) 690 MW VSC-HVDC grid connection underwent system commissioning around 2015. Under a contract worth over €200 million, Prysmian supplied, installed and commissioned the ±320 kV, ~130 km submarine and land cable system linking the Amrumbank West wind farm area in the HelWin cluster to the onshore converter station at Büttel, while Siemens provided the 690 MW Voltage Sourced Converter system; commissioning and commencement of commercial operation of the HVDC link were planned for 2015 and later reported with HelWin2 in operation from 2015.
