On 29 October 2019, local newspaper Haramsnytt published an article titled "Legg ny straumkabel mellom Fjørtoft og Harøy" about laying a new electricity cable between the islands of Harøy and Fjørtoft. This corresponds to the approximately 2.5 km, 24 kV submarine cable link from Harøy in Haram municipality to Fjørtoft in Sandøy municipality described in NVE’s 2016 concession to Mørenett AS.
