Norges vassdrags- og energidirektorat (NVE) granted Mørenett AS an anleggskonsesjon (construction and operation licence) on 8 April 2016 under the Norwegian Energy Act, covering multiple grid facilities including an approximately 2.5 km long 24 kV subsea cable between Harøy in Haram municipality and Fjørtoft in Sandøy municipality. This consent authorises the development and operation of the Haroy–Fjortoft interconnector cable and associated high-voltage equipment within the specified concession period to 2046.
