DONG Energy A/S selected ABB, working alongside Areva T&D, to supply and install key high‑voltage electrical equipment for the Gunfleet Sands offshore substation, which forms part of the Gunfleet Sands OFTO assets. ABB’s contract covered manufacture, supply and offshore installation of the primary HV package, including 132 kV GIS switchgear and associated systems, enabling transformation from the wind farm’s 33 kV array voltage to the 132 kV export voltage and reliable connection into the 132 kV export cable system.
