The Gunfleet Sands offshore wind farm transmission assets were commissioned in July 2009. The 172 MW transmission system, including the offshore substation, submarine export cable and land cable, reached full commercial operation enabling power export from all 48 Siemens 3.6 MW turbines to the onshore grid at Clacton-on-Sea.
