Onshore Construction Start

DELAYED +3yr (May 2026): Onshore construction start is typically gated on FID/financial close. With FID now pushed out to end‑2031 due to regulators’ Feb 2026 conclusion that conditions are not met for regulatory approval and a joint study must be completed first, the onshore construction start cannot credibly occur in 2029. Shifting to ~early 2032 to follow a late‑2031 FID and allow mobilisation and enabling works at Kingsnorth/Dunkerque. DELAYED +3yr (Apr 2026): Developer materials couple FID and start of construction in 2026, but there is no sign of FID or major onshore works at Kingsnorth or near Dunkerque/Bourbourg by early 2026, and earlier milestones such as 2024 regulatory approvals are delayed. With FID moved to late 2028 in this assessment, onshore construction can realistically begin only after that, so I set construction start to early 2029. --- According to the GridLink Interconnector project timeline, final investment decision and the start of construction are planned for 2026, indicating that onshore construction activities for the interconnector are expected to commence that year.
