The first cable‑laying campaign for Greenlink started in October 2023 when Jan De Nul’s cable‑laying vessel Connector installed the initial ~80 km section from the Wales shore into the Irish Sea. The operation formed the first continuous subsea section of the HVDC link and set up the mid‑sea meeting point for the subsequent campaign from the Irish coast.
