Svenska kraftnät plans to start construction works for the Gotland Connection around 2027–2028, including onshore infrastructure between the Misterhult station in Oskarshamn municipality and the Stenkumla station south of Visby, as part of a new 2 x 220 kV AC cable link to secure Gotland’s electricity supply. Construction will begin once the necessary permits are obtained and forms a key step toward commissioning the interconnection by 2030.
