Skyborn Renewables' newsroom article dated 19 December 2025, announcing receipt of the state planning approval (construction and operations permit) for the Gennaker offshore wind farm, states that construction is "planned to take place over a period of two years and commissioning in 2028" with a "commissioning target date of 2028." Combined with the 50Hertz/Skyborn cooperation agreement (27 January 2026) confirming that the OST-6-1 grid connection commissioning is planned for July 2028, this supports a mid-2028 first power and commissioning timeframe for the Gennaker grid connection system. The 220 kV HVAC export cables from OSS Darß and OSS Zingst to Gnewitz must be energised and tested before the wind farm can begin exporting power, so the grid connection first power is expected to coincide with or slightly precede the wind farm commissioning. Mid-2028 (end of Q2) is used as the projected date with quarter-level precision based on the available developer and TSO statements.
