The 110 kV three-core AC Submarine cable is manufactured by Prysmian and the first installation will commence already this year in Väike Väin strait.
Prysmian manufactured the 110 kV three-core AC submarine power cable used for the first Väike Strait Muhu–Orissaare link in Elering’s island security-of-supply programme. The Prysmian cable formed the approximately 4.7 km submarine section of the 6.7 km 110 kV cable line between Muhu island and the Orissaare substation on Saaremaa. The cable was supplied in a single continuous length suitable for float-out and burial in the shallow Väike Väin Strait, providing increased transmission capacity and reliability for electricity supply to Saaremaa and Hiiumaa.
