Baltic Offshore has been awarded two submarine cable installation contracts by Merko/Connecto consortia… Väike Väin scope consist of pre-trenching of 4.7 km and a challenging float out installation due to very shallow waters.
Baltic Offshore was awarded a submarine cable installation subcontract by the Merko/Connecto consortium for Elering’s island security-of-supply programme. For the first Väike Strait 110 kV cable between Muhu and Orissaare, Baltic Offshore’s scope covered offshore installation works, including pre-trenching along the approximately 4.7 km submarine route and a challenging float-out operation in very shallow waters. Working from a specialist cable vessel, Baltic Offshore installed and protected the three-core 110 kV AC submarine cable on the seabed in a single length without joints, ahead of completion and energisation of the Muhu–Orissaare link.
