During the planning phase of the Hailuoto causeway between Riutunkari and Huikku, the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency and its alliance partners completed extensive environmental surveys and flow modelling, drawing on both new investigations and earlier studies to account for the area’s vulnerable ecosystem and challenging sea conditions in the project design and risk management.
