Contract with RTE to develop two HVAC 220 kV export cable links for Fécamp (and Calvados, Saint-Nazaire), covering both submarine and land routes; design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning.
Prysmian was awarded a framework contract by Réseau de Transport d'Électricité (RTE) to develop the export cable links for France’s first three offshore wind farms, including the Fécamp offshore wind farm grid connection. Prysmian’s scope covered the design, supply/manufacture, installation, testing and commissioning of two HVAC high-voltage export power cable links for each wind farm, covering both the submarine and land routes from the offshore wind park to the French mainland grid. The export cables were described as 220 kV three-core XLPE-insulated submarine cables with single-wire armouring, with subsea cables produced in Arco Felice (Italy) and Pikkala (Finland), and land-section cables manufactured in Gron (France).
